Hi everyone. I have the original chain on my 78 elswick 10 speed that I commute on and its slipping. Would a new HG-50 type chain do the job?
Cheers

as long as yo you use a 8 speed chain it will be fine. you will need to make sure the chainrings and cassette are ot worn as a new chain on worn cogs is worse than a worn chain

Thank you. The chainring and cassette are fine as the bikes been in a shed for 32ish years. I soaked the chain in chain lube for ages before using it but I think there's a few links that are just too crusty. Time for a new one.
