WOOOOOOOOOOAH That was one close shave for Brutt. I don't want to think of the consequences had he crashed into that house at over 50mph.

Come on Fabu - dominating this descent as to be expected.

Ah, he didn't go solo. Not technical enough I guess.

Brave effort by those three. Looks set for a bunch sprint. Freire's there I think. Not sure of Boonen or Cav.

Marcato messing up that sprint nicely for the main sprinters, almost winning it

Good win for Haussler after a troubled early season

Anyone noticed that Cervelo riders have their names printed on the back of their jerseys?

Poor race pick for Armstrong, Cav and co.
The whole race is forecast to be unseasonably cold and very wet.
    No dry day.
Hope the bike handling skills are up to par.

    Right.
Ten Dam abandons. Time penalties for Mollema and Devolder.
Rogers loses 3'-09" looking after Cav.
Sagan, Hushovd and C VdV lose 10'-57"!

Ten Dam has a fractured wrist, and two broken vertebrae. He's out of the Tour de France.

    Shame.

He had a good Tour last year.

I don't understand this rider much - certainly not my type of competitor. I guess he had a bad injury again this year.

You may have noticed him lying on the deck in the Giro with a broken collarbone

You may have noticed I mentioned that in my post.

My comment applies to him at any point of the year and not just this one. I started a post on it one time...

He also considers himself one of the best engines in the peloton. By his own admission.

He'll be gutted. I understand the first thing he does post race/crash is log on to check your results, and even follows you on twitter
