Tempted by the fruit of another...Enduro Vs Coilair

Was in a LBS trying to convince my daughter that pink bikes, fluffy pink seat covers and pink grips, pedals and fkin bell was almost a declaration of war....and....

I stumbled across a Kona Coilair 2009 Supreme for 1400 english pounds....which was an Ex-Demo one apparently.

Now seeing as I was just getting used to my Speccy 2008 Enduro...which, apart from being incredible value for money - matches pretty much what I expect from a bike. (although I am undecided on the FutureShock E150 - it is not as smooth/plush as the Fox)

The trouble is that the Coilair, on the surface, has all the makings of something very interesting. ie Good groupset, wheels, interesting frame and suspension. Have I lost the plot or is there something in this?

PS She liked one of the Kona bikes but insisted it must have a pink seat, grips, pedals, tyres and fkin bell! No she ain't getting one.

Ignore the coilair. The Enduro is leagues ahead of any Kona, with their massively flawed suspension design.

As above - it's just a shiny in a shop. Spend money on buying some fox float 36s - will transform the front of the bike.

I'd give the magic link another year or so to settle down before getting one (2010 model seems better than 2009).

You could always ask to ride it, to see if you like it.

Bugger the magic link, the whole system needs to be rethought. Terrible piece of design.
