Noisy shifter..

The right-hand Campag Centaur ergo on my bike makes a pretty loud rattling noise when going over any sort of rough road.

For the life of me I can't distinguish exactly where the noise is coming from, or what I need to do to fix it. Anybody have any experience with these shifters?

Firstly, make sure that the brake cable it tight i.e. it pulls the lever into the body. There's a little rubber button of the front of the front of the lever - try Superglueing a small piece of rubber in it's place if it's come away. Some people use a rubber band otherwise.

Monty, your a legend. Small piece of it has indeed fell off and that is what was causing it
