Am looking at finally getting a basic workstand (and after 15 year without one you could say it's about time).
I know it's an often asked question so please save the flaming type responses, I've actually posted up in case anyone is aware of any place doing a good deal on any at the moment.
Afraid car is gonna cost me a fair bit this month so if anyone has a link or recommendation on a budget feel free to post it

^ most folk get that same stand cheaper at Ribble, includes delivery. it's a quality buy for the money.0 -
the reviews aint great but at £10

looks like the main problem is weight so maybe just something to weigh it down0 -

you just sit the chain stay and the tube that runs from the seatpost to the rear axle on it. you do have to crouch down but it lifts the wheel off the ground so u can set up gears etc0

+1 for the X-Tools stand. I got one after reading the review in MBUK
I got mine from RutlandCycles ebay shop £60 + Free delivery, so works out about the same price as Ribble.

Delivery was prompt and it's a really good piece of kit. It says it's a Raleigh stand on the box but it is exactly the same as the X-tools pic in the MBUK review pic. I think they are distributed and sold under several different names.0 -
the Ribble price is 54 including delivery0

I've been eyeing that one up. Bought other parts from him before and they've been ok, good service.
Not sure how good it is, but at 40 quid it's pretty cheap.0 -
Been consideringthis BB mount one @ decathlonfor £30.
Currently using a Topeak Flashstand which has its drawbacks only raising the rear wheel off the ground but has been very handy out on the trails.

Thanks for the many replies - was actually expecting a 'use the search' reply
Think am gonna go with the £60 ebay one from rutlandcycling - use ebay for loads so happy to use that one.
Few years ago i made up a stand which lifted the rear wheel a few inch but i want something to be able to work better on brakes and front end.
thanks again for the submisions all0 -
Change of plan - ebay store didn't have any available so moved to ordering from ribble...
Listed cost @ £64.45
With ribble default discount, and also using code TRIP7 for a code takes it down to a total of £50.94 inc parcelforce postage.... result!!0
