Washed my new bike for the first time today and after id finished it sounds like there is a fair amount of water in the forks [pike 454 u-turn air] will this drain out on its own or do i need to take them apart?
Thanks for any help, ollie.

Might be the oil you can hear. Infact am 99.9% sure it is - the forks are sealed.

Yup sounds like the oil, i doubt water would of got through the seals, unless you used a pressure washer right on the seals, then its possible but unlikely.

    Agree with Kev.
It's easier to ask for forgiveness than for permission.

    I've bought a new bike....ouch - result

Ive had water get past the seals on Recons before, after a very very wet winter ride I noticed a strange water like noise. So I did a lower leg lube service and on taking out the bottom fork leg bolts a lot of water came out from the left hand side.I serviced it applying a good drop of grease to the underside of the wiper seal and 15ml of oil in bothl egs and refreshed the foam ring with fresh oil, never had this problem again.

Now the forks were not that old so Im thinking that they had a lot less oil or grease in them to keep the water at bay.
