iphone satnav for bikes

Not sure what you want exactly, but I don't think you can get 'satnav' as such for the iPhone.
I'm no expert but I was looking into this and a friend told me that the iPhone has no 'satnav' capabilities. I think you can track routes but not use it as a 'satnav' like you would with a TomTom in a car, for example.0 -
you can get loads of satnav apps for the iphone, the google maps on it already will give you directions but not spoken out, you need to follow the line on screen
if you wanted you could get tomtom on there or use one of the less expensive apps0 -
I always thought the downside of this was a) battery life and b) water resistance.
I fancy doing it with my Nokia (I'm too cheap to even buy an iphone), but have been put off by a & b.0 -

Does anyone use this, is it worth doing?
Buy a Cheap Tomtom XL (£99; has specific bike routing ability) plus a RAM bar mounting kit (£20) plus a plastic bag & zip ties for when it rains.
This has served me well here and abroad on my Brompton and is a lot cheaper than a £400 iPhone. Your screaming will be quieter as it bounces off the bars over rough roads too, or some scrote grabs at it at traffic lights.___________________

Oh, battery life will be c 3hrs, but you can just turn on and off at junctions or in town and it lasts all day.___________________
