Hi Guys

When i am riding my bike if i look at my rear tyre it seems i have a constant flat tyre. When i get off and check the tyre is firm and pumped up the front tyre is fine.

I also have a issue where my why rear tyre rubs against the back end of the frame after i repaired a puncture on it how tight does the quick release leave have to be.

Cheers J

    So what is the pressure?

Quick release - keep adjusting the nut and closing opening until you feel tension build up in the lever at 85 degrees from closed. Then close fully.

    Thanks supersonic,

I dont know the pressure only got a pump that i use when i go biking... I will have a look at the quick release hopefully over the weekend.

The rear tyre always looks kind of bulged as you look down on it whilst riding. It's just perspective. I've always noticed it as well running up to 50psi on my tyres. Only reason you don't see it on the front is that there's not as much weight on that wheel.

The old thumb test isn't very accurate. Get a cheap pressure gauge or a pump with one built in.
Aldi? were doing some cheap track pumps for a fiver, more than adequate for MTB pressures.

Quick release should be firm, but still easily opened again with your fingers.

If the tyre is rubbing against the frame the QR would have to be really loose to be causing it. Did you get the wheel back in properly?

I assume that after refitting the rear tyre the bead has been evenly lined up against the rim. Folding tyres and UST/2bliss tyres can need some effort to get the bead in up against the rim or beadlock (wheel dependent), which affects how the tyre sits on the rim.

What frame? What tyres and what size? Do you have disc brakes?
