Will people still bang on about Astana being a weak team?

    Astana:
    Contador,
    Vinokourov,
    De la Fuente,
    Grivko,
    Hernandez,
    Igliskiy,
    Navarro,
    Noval,
    Tiralongo

Surprised no Fofonov  He has done some good work for Contador this year.

That is a real shame, always hoping each year we are going to see him repeat his climbing feats of 2007.

So are they going without a sprinter or will EBH be taking on that role?
Brailsford said "We felt tactically though, would we rather have someone who could contribute in the high mountains than perform well in the sprints", so I'm guessing they're really just going for Wiggins. It's a bit risky in my opinion and I don't see that one rider making a huge difference. I would have picked Henderson.

    Garmin Transitions

    Julian Dean (NZL)
    Tyler Farrar (USA)
    Ryder Hesjedal (CAN)
    Robbie Hunter (SA)
    Martijn Maaskant (NED)
    David Millar (GB)
    Johan Van Summeren (BEL)
    Christian Vande Velde (USA)
    David Zabriskie (USA)

    Farrar and Hunter. Interesting.

Hunter was a little surprising given he could divide the sprint effort. Tommy d showed in the vuelta 09 he can ride hills so not a vote of confidence in vdv, his need for climbers

Henderson wouldn't have won anything though with the quality of the other sprinters going.

Could easily be quickest from a small group though.

I would ask the question whether he would make it to the finish as part of a small group in the first place though...
