Still cant make my mind up over these two. Love the Dolan and I know the company have a fantastic rep. As for Planet X they scream value.
The Dolan with rival set up and mavic wheels is £1699

And of course the Planet X but with Sram red

Buying bikes is a real bloody mindfield and having tried both bikes for size its hard to figure which one is best for the odd race, sportive and general riding for fitness
Any comments guys......... do like the dolan though

Hmmmmm, tricky decision. How can the Planet X, kitted with RED, be the same price as the Dolan kitted with Rival? Crikey! Is there really that much difference in the frame?
Me - I'd go for the Dolan but that's just personal choice, and probably more to do with the fact that I've never had any dealings with Planet X and prefer the service and support of a LBS from start to finish.
As for which Groupset - well the main difference is in the weight. I guess if I was getting a full carbon frame I may opt for Force for the extra £180 or thereabouts but for my bike I was happy with going for Rival.
BTW - have you used SRAM before? The Double Tap is brilliant. I wasn't sure how I'd take to it but it was second nature within seconds.0 -
Im swaying towards the Dolan and im prepared to pay £1880 for the better wheels and groupset tbh. But would then need a set of training wheels due to the state of the roads around here for day to day use. I like the idea of supporting UK companies as well .0

PX for me by a long way.
The frames are both made in a land far away - why pay more? For Dolan's marketing?0 -
Not directly comparable in terms of bikes, I've got a PX Ti Pro Road and it's excellent, More relevant for your consideration is the service that I've had from PX if I've had any queries, issues or requests, they couldn't have been more helpful. My son has an Ultegra equipped Pro Road and loves it.
I'm not saying anything negative about the Dolan, I don't have any experience with them, but I'm with Percy re Planet X"The only absolute statement is that everything is relative" - anon0
