The reason I ask is because some manufacturers have countdowns on their websites?

If so, does this mean the 2010 models will be reduced some time soon?

I'm just contemplating wether to hold out.

i suspect you will be holding out until Jan or Feb! I dont have that kind of patience, especially if it is a nice summer's day

Ahh that's what I thought. I just didn't want to buy a bike and see it reduced heavily in two weeks.

As for patience, I have none also. :)

I was going to buy a Ribble but they quoted 3-4 weeks turnaround. I can't wait that long especially with the current weather.

I was looking at a new bike last year around September time and there were a number of local LBS offering deals on the 09 models they had in stock. Was given the line that it was to help clear down stock holding before the winter kicked in and to make room for the new 2010 models that would start coming in over the next couple of months.

So maybe you'll miss the Summer to get a saving but not have to wait as long as January next year.

I think the best way to get a deal is that if the LBS has the exact bike you want in stock, either on display(Like mine was) or in physical stock. My guessing would be a deal could be struck if they want the space to display the 2011 models.

A deal could be stuck if they haven't sold much

I bought a 2010 specialized at huge discount purely becuase the shop hadn't taken a bean all day, and I made a silly offer that was accepted. I couldnt get my wallet out fast enough

Try bidding on a showroom bike- you may be pleasantly surprised
