I've been doing quite well, but do get a "wake-up" call now and then.
There are many days when I don't even think about my hip...most days really.
I went on a road bicycle tour in Hawaii (Big Island) in late January at the 5 month mark which was great. 240+ miles and 21,000 vertical in 6 days.
Then I cleaned up my mountain bike, untouched since the accident, and took her out at 6 months. I customized some hardshell/foam hip pads to fit under my shorts to add courage.
Pretty quickly I was back riding with my usual group and we had a great trip to Fruita in April. My technical skills are back pretty much, but I am slower in the fast spots and cornering over rocks which is where I slipped and fell.
I just returned from a visit to DC to see family, where we did 10-12 miles of fast walking on hard surfaces, a very technical and steep hike, and finally much slow jogging carrying luggage on the trip home. All THAT seems to have irritated something in the hip area..? soft tissue?
Anyway, I was overdue for a reminder to not take the healing for granted and to keep on working on rehab. It's easy for me to slip into the pattern of just biking since that is my favorite activity !
I hope every one is progressing well with healing.
