I often get MTB team shirts because they're just as 'busy' but they don't have the baggage of the road-team stuff (who wants to buy a shirt and then find it associated with the world's worst doper?). As an added bonus, an MTB shirt might wind up roadie purists.

My only MTB shirt would be rubbish on a road bike - fit is too loose and there is no sticky silicon around the waist to grip it to my shorts. Any weight in the back pockets would end up sliding the shirt round to my front!

Besides, very easy to avoid the doping association - don't buy team shirts (or at least recent ones).

Well i'll tell you what definately isn't cool, Planet-x S/S jerseys, seem exactly the same as my other cheapo sub 20 quid jerseys, the fact that they are reduced from 45 quid is rollox IMO. Cant really go wrong for 17.50 but still.....

Aldi does for me, not the best a bit baggy but can't complain...and rather have several shorts/tops rather than really nice 1 or 2 sets.
    Say... That's a nice bike..

I'm starting to agree with hte Pro kit not being cool. I am going with plane colour just gonna match the bike me thinks.

I like the Pro kits think they look good but to be honest although I'm not usually botherd what ppl think, I do think wearing pro kit mite be a tad to much. Mite bespoke one just for me lol

I quite like more retro or plain looking kit. I'm against pro-kit on principle, although I must admit that I am quite tempted by the Team Sky jersey. It's to do with its simplicity, I think. (Luckily the price is acting as sufficient deterrent!)

Black bib shorts, unless you're racing.

I see absolutely no problem wearing pro kit, I wear the jersey of the team I follow and admire the most. I don't think its any different from the millions of people who wear their favourite footy teams shirts.

I wouldn't wear all pro kit, shorts, jersey, gloves, socks etc all at one go mind.

Let's face it, some people look cool whatever they're wearing. I'm not one of them.

You definitely go faster in pro kit because you are too embarrassed to be caught up by anyone. A nice black, red and white one is the Caisse d'Epargne outfit, made by Nalini, and I find it nice and cool and comfy in this heat. Goes with the red and white helmet and Evil Eye shades. People see me in their mirrors and fall of their bikes in shock and awe. Possibly because I had to get an XXL outfit....gulp. I thought I was the only one with this outfit in our local area but this morning I saw my mirror image ( except he had a white helmet) going the other way!

I've ordered the all white with a black stripe Castelli Prologo jersey. Hope it's here in time for my sportive next Sunday. Got to look cool as I'm almost dying getting up the hill.
