Hi

I am thinking of buying a jersey, not sure what to get but thinking of one of these maybe:

I would like a full or long front zip.

Cervelo Test Team Training Jersey:
http://www.probikekit.com/display.php?code=C1746
Expensive but looks good and top qual make?

Craft 2010 Performance Tour Jersey:
http://www.probikekit.com/display.php?code=C2751
Good all-rounder?

2010 Castelli Men's Carico Jersey:
http://www.probikekit.com/display.php?code=C2303
Cheaper Castelli but not full zip.

Any advise or tips or any thoughts on other jerseys that can be recomended?

Cheers

Simon

I'd go for one that you like the look of best. I always wear a base layer underneath my tops and they're all much of a muchness, from club kit, to pro team kit, to rapha jerseys. I couldnt tell you which one I was wearing without looking - they all feel similar.

I'm not keen on dark kit - just cos motorists are muppets and it makes you less obvious to them - but its your choice.

I have one of the Cervelo tops. Really nice quality and very good for hot weather (good mesh panels, etc.). Make sure about the size because they are cut very tight (I went up a size and it is still a bit tight). I have seen another post from someone who went up two sizes!

Yeah Bob I heard that some of the jerseys can be on the small size, especially the Castelli, would you say go up a size after taking in the Castelli measurements that they recommend?

Castelli do one that looks similar to the Cervelo one but is just a Castelli top, which is quite nice I think, in a flash roadie way  .

I tried on a mavic top the other day which was very nice. Plain black though.

Evans has it on offer actually at £38

What about a liquigaz team jersey; I think they look really cool in summer and are good for high viz. with motorists.

Hello Simon, I think my short answer is yes. To be honest, I didn't look at the Castelli sizing chart before ordering but it says that my size is a medium (38" or 96cm), which is wrong. I noted the comments about a "racing cut" but I like my kit to be tight so ordered a M (which is my usual size in other makes) but it was uncomfortably tight, hence, sent it back and went for the L. As I said earlier, even the L is a bit tight. It does fit but it is snug and there is no room for a base layer, just my bibs.

    Nalini stuff is also nice.

    Thanks for all these guys

This is not a bad price:
Nalini Liquigas Team Jersey 2010 £35 short zip

Not too sure I like the green Liquigas Jersey, quite like the HTC but I think I might be going for a more borin plain one!

+1. It amazes me that some much Winter kit comes in black. That's not going to help motorists see you in dingy conditions.

My mate loves black. Black bike, bottles, shoes, longs, top, helmet.

I rode past him on a sunday morning - he was riding to meet me and I was looking out for him - but he was in the shade on a murky sunday morning. He saw me in my fluo gilet and then had to chase for 2 miles to catch me up.

Next weekend he turned up in a fluo gilet.

Our club uses Castelli for our kit manufacturer ands its great stuff. Our jersey is similar to the Cervelo one and its proved so popular that almost all the club have bought it and nobody needs to be asked to wear it on club rides as most do!

There not on the Nike site, I saw them on the Lance Armstrong Foundation/LIVESTRONG site, see link below. But then I got the Evans Cycles Catalogue through the other day & noticed they were getting the tops. Evans have always had Nike cycling gear in.

Be different, try one of these. Arguably more technical in construction than any of them. Very comfortable and distinctive!
