Steven Kruijswijk doing pretty OK here, for a neo-pro late minute Giro sub for Freire; he was also in the L'Aquila break

Cyclingnews: "Efimkin and Sorensen are probably the strongest riders in the break in terms of climbing ability. The Dane having already won a stage in this year's race."......

Nicki, Chris, all those Danish names. Difficult, difficult

He's waiting for a tow from Basso up to Aprica.

This stage could be turning into one of those lazy, hot Tourist affairs.....

Looks like they will stay away....PTP whitewash?

Would like to see Cummings get the win.

    Looks like it.

Tough to pick a winner from the breakaway. I'd like to see Amador or Arashiro get it.

Pah. At least I called a breakaway. I claim moral PTP points. And bloody Efkim was tails to Moncoutie's heads.

Cunego must be really up for this 20th place.

Lampre working to protect the GC from Efimkin, they are trying to peg the gap.

A Frenchman wins a major mountain stage of a grand tour. Is there where we start asking if he can win the Tour de France one day?

Well done all three. Monier, great win, clearly the strongest, after a good performance yesterday - break-through?
Kruijswijk, incredible performance for a neo-pro, again in a break
Hondo, well done for who was probably the fastest of the 19, ending up in the best climbing break

I almost want to go back to doping chat after that stage.....
Cofidis's Giro is a slam dunk. Well done Monsieur Monier on the breakthrough.

Tomorrow could well become a recovery ride for everyone but the sprinters, so it's all to do for Basso & Evans on Fri/Sat if they want to reel in Arroyo.

Incredible finish to the Giro mind. Friday and Saturday look horrendous - can see lots of time lost on both stages. And the time trial could see some more time exchanged between the leaders.

Giro is an amazing race - no.1 GT course by a long way for me in terms of the parcours and excitement.

Agree... But I must admit that it hurt my eyes looking at his riding style... He beats Noddy Chris Sorensen to the prize for the most unconventional riding style (aka bucking bronco award)

we could have every man for himself come fri sat...

scarponi needs to go down the road and garzelli is probbaly up for a go as well
