Is there any point having barrel adjusters on the downtube, if there at the STI shifter end? Or is it better to just have on the downtube?

It's just another place for adjustment, is it not?

Better to have them on the downtube, as the inline ones tend to be pants and screw the indexing up quicker.

It makes sense just to have one. i wanted to confirm. Certain frames have built in downtube adjusters anyways. Something about being in a quicker posiition to adjust in a race.

I had problems with the shifting on my Synapse Ultegra from new until I replaced the cables and junked the right hand in-line adjuster. To be honest the left hand keeps unwinding itself also so will junk that also when the cables are worn out! The in lines on my Kinesis keep seizing up as it's anyhow so they're also a waste of time! Maybe I've been unlucky with standard fit adjusters but I manage fine without them anyway and just use the rear mech adjuster and ensure the tension on the front mech cable is nice and tight!

I got a set of BBB ones from PArker International, haven't had to use them but I'll be glad they're there...
