Swapping groupsets between bikes
As above...
Long story short, I'm swapping groupsets over on two of my bikes - BBs and chainsets will be done by the LBS, and I'll be sorting the rest out.
Noticed however that one of the front mechs is band on and the other braze on.
First question - compatibility - they're both triples - but one's 9spd, the other 10spd - presumably these are not compatible? The only reason I ask is if the 10spd 105 triple front mech will work with a 9spd triple set-up I can just leave that mech where it is, and only buy one new (braze on) mech for the other bike, that's going to have the 10spd moved onto it.
If they're not compatible, then I need to take the 9spd braze on front mech and get it onto a frame with no braze ons - I see there's an adapter band for about £12 - does anyone have any experience of this - is it a good half-way house, or should I just buy a brand new mech for each bike - I'm just looking to keep costs down where I can/ make use of parts that aren't worn out yet!
Cheers - sorry for the ramble!

I would leave both front mechs where they are and check the setup once the chainsets have been fitted. He is not the messiah, he is a very naughty boy !!0

+1 for the above
but if you do need to buy a band on adapter, they work fine0
