Removing lateral play from front hub

Found some lateral play in my Ritchey wheels (Boardman Team Carbon), and was wondering how to get rid.
I've never made any adjustments of this sort before and was wondering if you just need two cone spanners, fit to either side of the hub and nip up til play has gone?
PLease tell me its as simple as that?

Close but no cigar
There are two nuts on each side of the hub. The inner sets the compression on the hub, the outer is a lock nut. So you undo the lock nut (on either side whichever gives first). Tighten the inner until the play goes but the axle still turns freely (important this bit - too tight and you are crushing the bearings) . Tighten lock nut and you are sorted.
Edit - assuming the wheels are cup and cone which I'm guessing they are.0 -

Not sure about cup and cone, although the spec states "sealed bearings", so they probably are.
Once loosened one of the lock nuts, will I have to tighten both sides inner nut, or just the one?0 -
One side - keep the other locked.

Tighented up quick release, and play has gone.
