why do the conti tour slim 26 and Schwalbe MTB 26 X 1 -1.5 are a bit loose on my mavic xc717 disc rims. any direct to the point advice would be much appreciated and reassurance

conti race 26 x 1 - 650 x 18/25c Presta 42mm be the right tube size?

    Again in English?

I'm really not at all sure what Q you are asking!

trying to figure out what tube size is best suited to the tyre. had tried the conti tour slim 26 tubes with tyre seated on rim but the tube was crushed on at one part. i thought a 26" tube would fit snugly on a xc rim. so obviously im missing something and i struggle at asking the right questions. anyone want to translate for me?

26" is the size of the wheel, which is standard for an MTB. There should be another number, eg 26" x 1.5-2.0" which means that the tube is suitable for tyres between 1.5 and 2 inches wide.

So what is the width of the tubes?

    Schwalbe MTB 26" X 1-1.5
    conti Tour 26 Slim, 26 x 1.1-1.3
    conti race 26, 26 x 1 - 650 x 18/25c

crc review "would recommend conti's slim tour tubes 26x 1.18 - 1.3 though as the average tube is too large in diameter"
mtbr review "Need to use a narrow XC rim to safely use the 1.0 size. 650c 18-25 tubes work great."

And what tyre are you using?

Is the tyre loose on the rim when the tube is inflated?

the conti grand prix 26"mtb tyres sit perfectly and not loose when tube is inflated on the mavic xc 717 disc rims are for 1 to 2.3

So the tube is only loose when it's inflated without a tyre?

    That's not a problem

    conti race 26, 26 x 1 - 650 x 18/25c

    This is not a mountain bike tyre and won't fit a 26" rim I don't think. It's for a 650c rim.

I'm not 100% sure but it looks like the sizes quoted for the Conti tube are just different European standards for the same thing.

    have a look at this

    http://www.sjscycles.co.uk/article-Tyre ... t-Etro.htm

I think the tube is suitable for is 26 * 1 British imperial and 650 * 18/25 French so should be ok.
