Fairly interested in this question myself. However, I'm guessing people will need to know which Coast to Coast you are refering to. Mountainous Scottish one?

I did the Sustrans with some other riders

3 used Panaracer Mach ss semi slicks & 2 used full knobblies

Both worked well, the semi slicks were much faster rolling & provided almost as much off road grip as the knoblies. It was in mid summer & blazing hot, if it's gonna be a wet one go for full knobblies

  • I have some Conti Travel Contacts on one of my bikes at the moment, and that's definately what I'd use C2C.

I'm yet to do it myself, but live within 30 seconds pedalling distance of the track so have covered a good chunk of it many, many times, and it's mostly well maintained cycle track with the odd road thrown in.

i've done it one on twin rails, bit slippy mind and on wormdrives which was better. living in sunderland the tracks are getting mostly tarmac now and its just not as fun anymore
