I'm currently running 700x25 on my Secteur (standard tyres that came with the bike) These tyres are terrible.

Can I change them to a 700x23 and if so will the inner tubes that are currently in use need to be changed too, or will they be fine?

And lastly - anyone know of any special deals on tyres right now? Quite fancy either Krylion or Conti Grand Prix Attack - Force tyres.

Cheers

I find the rolling resistance terrible. Prefer something with a little bit less resistance.

And no, they aren't under inflated. Just incase anyone asks.

Yes, no problems changing your current 25mm tyres for 23mm ones - no need to change the tube.

If they're the original stock tyres you're currently running, either of the potential replacements will offer a major improvement in just about every aspect. Grip/rolling resistance/comfort etc.

Thank you for a sensible/non questioning answer!

Exactly what I was thinking but not sure and I will now peruse Wiggle, etc with my debit card in hand :D

    Again, many thanks.

Krylions are great tyres, I've been using them for all spring/summer/autumn riding for a while now and they are quick and very reliable.

They also make a good turbo trainer tyre once worn out on the road :)

I chucked the stock tyres on my Allez and fitted Vittoria Rubuno Pros.

    Much better, p*u£$%re resistant too

dg74, what Secteur did you get? I have the Elite and find that the All Condition Pro 2's that came with it are, IMHO, pretty good :?

The low end Secteur simply because I can upgrade it bit by bit (so far 105 brakes and Selle Rolls saddle with new wheels next then gearing).

The tyres on this are shockingly bad in my humblest. Even the Kenda's on my first road bike were better.

Fair enough. Good hunting. I am not sure that Wiggle one click ordering has helped my bank balance but I just about managed to resist ordering a new wheelset on election night :)
