Right guys I'm in a bit of a pickle.
Both my buddies are selling fr/dh frames and i need soem advice on em.
One is a 04 Bullit frame which is well used but comes with a new dhx3 or 4 shock on it with two springs (will probably need to buy another spring, me a lard ass.)
My other mate is selling a Richi Engineering Balrog frame.

Now i have no experience or even heard of Richi Engineering and kind need advice on what theyre like as a UK bike ie easy to get spare parts.
I havent seen this frame but i can only assume its in a decent knick and i should be able to get it for a decent price.
My only worries with the Balrog is that it doesnt have a replaceable dropout. Its about 8-10mm thick the dropout but in the back of my mind im thinking its just a total bad idea havin a FR bike without some sort of bailout on it.
So really without taking prices into it what would you guys do? Buy one or just leave it?

I wouldn't by an alu frame without a replaceable hanger.
I don't like buying any frame without one.0 -

Exactly my thought but the Bullit doesnt have on either and I know how thats been ridden the past few years so it just made me think.0 -
What is your budget, and what exactly are you after? ie travel, rear axle type, headset size etc.0

At the moment i dont have a budget and im only investigating the possibilities.
With regards to travel around 6"-7" DH capable but Im open minded to whether i want something with dual crown or single.
again rear axle type will just be whatever the frame comes with as i will probably get new wheels anyway. Hset size again whatever the frame comes with.0 -
My advice would be to go for a full build as usually work out much better value in the long run. Some hefty reductions on new stuff at Pauls.0
