Posiible fake Merida frame ?

Hello,

I have just got a Merida MATTS TFS Trail 700-D frame, ordered from a local re-seller.

My problem is that it doesn`t really look like the one I`ve ordered from the 2010 catalogue :

can this be a fake frame ? Does anyone have a similar one ? Please reply.

Could be that once it is fitted up with cables the cable stops appear less prominent?

..and expect a rocket for the multiple post in different sections!

The catalogue photo is a composite/pre-production photo.

You don't have a fake frame.

the catalogue image looks like the 2008-2009 frame.

and if you bought it from an authorised Merida reseller it would not be worth selling fakes.

Manufacturers will always fiddle with production models due to feedback from dealers and riders. If the welds are good and the attention to detail of the frame is also good, I doubt it's a fake. The only other possibility might be an imported frame, ie, not a UK spec model.

different sizes can be slightly different in shape too...

What everyone else said, plus manufacturers tend to change decals a little slightly anyway. If it's from a merida dealer, then it won't be a fake.

Thats what I thought! Seems like a completely different design feature. Looks better im afraid the way the catalogue shows it.
