I've never watched this programme before mainly due to the fact that I find Horne and Corden painfully unfunny, but I am watching an episode now just so I can truthfully pass judgement.

I've only been watching it for a few minutes and already I want to round up the cast and writers and stab them all to death in an orgy of violence. And Horne has the most punchable face in the history of mankind!

THIS 'PROGRAMME' IS SO SHIT!

A lot of modern comedy, especially BBC stuff, makes me want to do the same.
  • What happened to the glory days of Red Dwarf and Blackadder? :(

Just always seems the same formula - arguing couple and 2 brats. Like the new one with the distinctly unfunny Dawn French. Nothing new, no invention.
  • I am still watching on BBC3. It is still crushingly shlt!

I would say British sitcom is crap in general
Our stand up comedians are ace and so is content like Mock The Week and QI
Sadly when it comes to sitcom, well Little Britain, G&S and so on is all shyte
I much prefer certain American sitcoms, but not all. For example I'd like to set the entire cast of Friends alight and try dissect them with a chainsaw before their skin turns into crackling

Think it's a bit unfair to judge sitcoms based on Gavin and Stacey since it's not actually a comedy, it's like the Office, a sitcom which they forgot to add the com. Which makes it just a load of sit.

But, Black Books, the IT Crowd... My Family was sporadically good, Outnumbered can be decent for what it is.

  • The office is the biggest pile of wankjuice ever. it is utter utter utter shite, as is 110% of the stuff that comes out of that cockhead's mouth.

Black Books was genius. A lot of stuff is lowest common denominator these days, they're not going to take much of a chance on a sci-fi (RD) or fantasy (BA) sitcom. Prime time BBC will demonstrate how badly they do "serious" SF&F.

I watched Shameless for the first time the other day and found some bits very funny.

I guess we all hark back to the ones we grew up with and are used to. Little Britain I just don't really get.

I only watched G+S for the first time as well tonight! The only thing funny is the emotionless comments made in that horrible accent by that fat welsh lass!

Outnumbered, shameless and peep show/mitchell and webb, The IT crowd are the only things that come to mind that i enjoy watching.

Oh, and what this fella said!

By all accounts I should like G&S. I live in Barry, where it's set (and filmed) and Mrs C is orginally from Essex (Sarfffend on Sea). Everyone in the office raves over it, but TBH from the few bits of shows I've watched, it's just not funny (or should I say, it's not my sense of humour).

Now, what we really need is a Red Dwarf IX series... :D

1st series was ok. after that it went downhill.

''oh! whats occuring?'' gets a bit annoying after a while. its like when little britain was in its 1st series. all we heard was "i dont like it" and "eh eh eh" and "im the only gay in the village"

    fools and horses rules though

    "lovely jubbly"

I've never liked that. Don't know why. Of the 'old' comedies, Allo Allo is my favourite. And Fawlty Towers of course.

The thing is, I think it knew it was crap, and could laugh at itself at times. Whereas 'Fools' things it's brilliant but I've never found it that funny.

On The Buses. Now that is genuinely terrible!

  • How come there are so many shite 'comedies' on TV?

We all generally agree that catchphrase based stereotypical stuff (Gavin and Stacey, Little Britain, The Office, Catherine Tate) is terrible and we all generally think the more innovative stuff (Peep Show, Family Guy etc) are great.

Why if the voice of opinion is so seemingly sensible, so much pointless garbage is commissioned?!

Surely the inbred Daily Mirror reading cockrings can't be sustaining this shite singlehandedly?

Stand up for good TV! We can do it the same way that we got X Factor off the Xmas number one slot! :o
