my mudguards have melted :-0

I was away for a month and one of my bikes - a Roberts Audax with SKS chromoplastic 'guards fitted- was left near the window in the flat. I went to swap the tyres this morning and found that the back wheel was badly rubbing on the 'guard. After about 15 minutes of playing with the stays and fittings (I had assumed that somehow the 'guard had got twisted) I realised that the guard has melted on one side, so instead of being symmetrical, the side towards the window has drooped down onto the wheel :0

Should have taken a pic - but I took it off and threw it out; it sprung out like a twisted banana when it came off the bike...

Crazy.
