I have a fantastic Wilier Izoard fitted with Campag Centaur but having lots of problems.

Approx 1 year ago the chain came off the front cassette and got twisted as it got stuck between the mech and the frame.
The bike shop put a new chain on but the bike has not been the same since. Occasionally the chain comes off and on occasions the gears dont change as crisply as before.
I have taken it back to the shop a few times and had it serviced this week and explained the problem, they stated that 3 of the gears on the rear cassette were bent and have been straightened. I took the bike out for the first time and when climbing the rear derellieur has snapped and the chain is all twisted causing the wheel to lock up. (the derellieur is now above the rear wheel)
I am at my wits end

Any ideas folks ????

In short - sounds like ...
new rear mech, new cassette, new chain and new LBS!

Have I understood this correctly? They 'straightened' three cogs on the cassette?
I wouldn't have thought that was a very smart thing to do personally. 10/11 speed systems have such small tolerances I'd think it'd be a pretty tough job to bend a cog back to perfect shape. And the price of a new cassette looks like it'll now cost you a rear mech too. I'd also check the derailleur hanger on the frame to see if thats also been bent.

    Cheeers... Allan

Not much you can do other than splash out on new mech with chain and cassette.
As RHNB says find a new LBS too.
They must have some awesome machinery for staightening rear sprockets.
I would put money on it that the mech hanger bent the very first time you had an issue and its never be alligned which has probably not helped all this time.

My thoughts too - make sure you get the alignment of the mech hanger checked before spending money on new parts.

As a general rule if your chain comes off stop pedalling straight away and if you must try and pedal it back on do so very carefully.

it's a hard life if you don't weaken.
