enclosed vs open gears cabling

I've been running an on one 456 with (mostly) enclose cables on the gears, Ok, so it may not be as precise as the old versions that hand naked wires running down the top tube ....

But they stay clean, don't jam and don't chip the paintwork
The Cotic soul in my garage is nearly complete - but the cable stops are all just that - set for the old semi open system.

Are there anyway that I can run a closed system without having a top tube that looks like it has had a fight with black spagetti and some cable ties ??

Any suggestions?

You can get clips that attach to the existing cable stops.

You can also get Flying Snake cables, sealed and fit the cable stops on a frame. I've had a set on my Reign for 18 months, and they've been perfect.

or if you are sure about going fully sealed drill the stops out. i did this on my kona and worked a treat and kept cables clean and smoother for longer

as lugsey, i nhave changed mine to full outers and drilled the stops out,

always struck me as odd as to why they use an open cable under top tube and sealed from the seattube back! (i've a soul!)
i did run it with using the adaptors that bolt in to the cable stops but whilst they worked, looked a little unsightly!
