Stupid question maybe but can you adjust t he angle your pedals sit at, mine are currently sitting almost face down so it is awkward to clip my shoes in, surely a way to get them sitting more face up??

I'm going to assume that they're single sided road pedals like Looks or SPD-SLs.

I'm also going to assume that they're very new. When they're new, the bearings tend to be a bit sticky so they sit upside down. Once they wear in a bit, they'll start to hang just off vertical, allowing very easy clipping in.

What sort of pedals. Double sided MTB style ones do not 'hang' but are easy to get in anyway.
Road pedals should hang so you can pick up the front of the pedal with the cleat easily. They can be a bit stiff when new but soon improve. You can not adjust this with any of them.
  • If you really can't get on with single-sided road pedals, consider Speedplays.
