avid elixir r no modulation

i have standard fit avid elixir r brakes on my enduro,the front brake is fine with good modulation and power but...the rear brake lever has hardly any movement before the brake is on very hard,it still has plenty of power but mo modulation whatsoever ! any help would be great thanks.

    check the system has not been over filled.

    re set the pistons.

    then maybe a bleed if the above dont change anything.

  • A good bleed will sort it man :)

    I had the same issue this morning with my Juicy Carbon had power to stop but was hard to pull it on and hardly any give in the lever just solid. I took my pads out and half a of Cyprus fell out and the calipers seem like they have had better days. Luckily I had a spare carbon in my box of tricks so I can just put that one to one side for a rainy day for a strip and clean.

    Anyway back on track lol, first time you've used them, topped them up or bled them lately?
    I use all 9 inches.
