Campag Eurus wheelset - changing to Shimano?

I have a set of Campag Eurus wheels (bought in 2009). I am considering changing over to Shimano to match up with my other bike.

Is it simply a case of changing the Campag freehub on the wheels to a Shimano freehub? Is it a reasonably easy DIY job? I have some experience of bike maintenance but still learning as I go along!

Can anybody point me in the right direction for a relatively cheap Shimano freehub, if indeed the above is the case?

Thanks

My future son-in-law has just bought some 2009 Euros which came with Campag and Shimano Freewheel, he was going to flog the Shimano as he runs Campag.

Make us an offer and it's yours, can't help with the fitting, but your LBS should do it for you.

As far as I know you will need to change the whole hub as the freewheel will not interchange.

I would be interested to hear if indeed this is the case - I am of the opinion that it is just a case of changing the freehub over to Shimano.

Slow-n-Old - how much is your future son-in-law are you looking for for the Shimano freehub? Hope he does not need too much to finance the prospective wedding!

    Cheers.

    Hi Mate,

No you don't need to change the whole hub, when he bought the wheels the seller had a Shimano Free wheel on it and he changed it the morning of posting to Campag, so you deffo don't need to change the whole hub.

I'm not sure how much these are, but would have thought he would want £35 + post

Do you still have access to the shimano freehub for the Eurus wheelset?

You could always get a Marchisio cassette that has Shimano sprockets with Campagnolo freehub fitting...

Yep, my future son-in-law has it, so I can't photo now, but if you are interested in that price, then let me know and I'll get him to drop it over to me for a photo
