after much searching on the internet i've come across nobody else who's had this problem, so can anybody shed any light on it?
i screwed on my shock pump to the bottom of my fork, and all seemed fine until i took it off, the pump had filled with oil from the fork, so a seal of some kind has obviously blown allowing oil in the air, the forks have gone really spongy too. now i know i'm going to have to take them to a shop for repair, but just thought someone on here could entertain me with a possible cause first.

yes this happens if you have the valve at the bottom pointing down when adding air etc..
there is no valve to blow it is just there on the other side of the air valve."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."
