Im wondering about getting a new AM/XC Trail bike for around £1200-£1800 ish...ive come up with a few and i was just wondering what people would recommend. Ive had a look at the stumpjumper comp recently and was impressed by the low weight....
I ride mainly AM ..Im 5 foot 5 i currently have a Kona fire mountain in size 18" which is a little too big but fine.
I would like it to be a full suspension with about 130-160mm Thanks

I think you need to narrow down your riding a bit more - you have there some beefy 6 inch plus travel bikes, and svelte XC bikes!0

ok..i do mostly XC as training/for fun but at weekends i do all-day rides with quite a lot of AM stuff...so about 5-6 inches of travel with a good pedaling system like FSR or similar weight isnt a problem as long as its under 34 lbs or so0

FSR isn't a particularly good pedaling system, tends to bob a bit, but the flip side is very active.
SOunds like the Pitch would be a good compromise for you.0 -
thats what i was thinking...but the dealer said the stumpjumper was a better bike (probably as it is another £200-300)0

How about a slightly smaller fire mountain then?0 -

Mine must be broke then, whats this pedal bob you talk of.0 -
@realman I really want a full sus as then I can do bigger drop offs etc. Also I'm growing so my bike needs to be a little to big for me0

They have little anti squat - though the shock of course can be tunes to firm up compression damping.0
