hmm...i think i liked the previous forks on how they look but these will be better becasue of travel adjusment and you have quite a few black bits on the bike anyway0

My feelings exactly... the front end is toooo black now so i've bought some chrome/silver bars to brighten it up which should work well.
Monkeylights have always been a tad too narrow for my liking anyways!0 -

I'd just like to let everyone know,
that flat and low,
is the way to go.
Seriously, they are freaking awesome. I wasn't too sure at 1st, but they offer so much stability. And the lower bar gives a racier stance meaning i'm not so sat up.
Down at 130mm I'm lower and in a much better position to keep the front down on climbs.
at 140mm its sort of a trade off between climbing and decending.. great all round position.
at 150mm they're awesome going downhill0 -
they look retarded.0

well I was trying to match them to your face.... seems i succeeded!0 -
you need a green saddle and grips.0

think theyll look nice with a few details on them i believe i can see some white
on them but not 100%
wouldnt like the idea of plain mirrored bars tho, nice bike0 -

yea there is some white lettering on there somewhere lol.
Only cost me £25 so I thought they were worth a try! Been wanting something wider as the monkeylights were in a painful position for my wrists0 -
do they make 1 metre bars?
if not, they should0 -

there is the 800mm bar somewhere!!
These have cutting guides on them so I can cut them if I need to.. like them as they are atm!0 -

Cheers fella
Just trying to mix it up a bit... you never know untill you try!
I guess thats why I ended up with sram gears... what a mistake!0 -
The Truvativ Boobar is 800mm IIRC.The Northern Monkey wrote:I guess thats why I ended up with sram gears... what a mistake!0

can't get the shifters in a comfortable position, there is no dual release, the shifting feels really disconnected compared to shimano.
everything will go to XT eventually I think!0 -
I felt it was much quicker shifting than my old XT gear, though i've had a couple of small niggles setting it up, i've also managed to get it in a better position on the bars than my old XT and the lack of dual release doesn't bother me either, you only really need to use your thumbs anyway, IMO. Horses for courses though.0

Nah i just can't the the X9's in a nice place, I find the thumb shifter is in a terrible place and its too big!
The rear derailleur is nice, but the shifting is so vague its annoying. I prefer the crispness of the XT than the smoothness of sram!0 -

Isn't it the other way round?0 -

Lovely P7 mate cant beat the ride on em. Not to sure on the new bars, think the Eastons looked better but if the new ones suit you better then thats all that counts!0

hehe, they are.... odd.. but once up and riding they make such a difference!
I might cut them down a bit after a few rides (read: after getting stuck between some trees) but I def prefer them over the monkeylights.
It may be the swap between carbon and alu bars, i'm not sure... but the feel is much much nicer!0 -
Bars now cut to a more trail friendly 700mm... doesn't make the bike look like a cruiser now
lost 30g too!! haha.0
