8 to 9 speed

I have now got to the point where i have sufficiently worn out my 8 speed setup to justify upgrading to 9 speed.
I assume the only things I need to change are:
- cassette - I'll go 11-34
- chain
- shifter - probably go for another attack as I like push push
- front sprockets?
on that last point would it be worth doing the crankset or just the sprockets. I have an old truvativ iso flow (square taper) crank which is pretty budget. I don't even know if you can get replacement sprockets.

Your chainset should be fine, most Truvativ are ok with 8 or 9 speed.
So just as you say. Ensure your mech is ok for a 34 tooth.0 -
Mech is a deore long cage - I calc I need a 45 teeth capacity. 44-22 + 34-110

Should be fine!
Sometimes a 9 speed front mech works better (ie deore upwards), but see how you get on with what you have. Slightly different widths.0 -
I have a top swing LX on the front which was new on last year..
So its just shifter chain and cassette then.0
