In the meantime... Greipel beating Rabon, Cornu and Grabsch in a TT?! Anyone knows what happened there? 5.8 km is short, but not that short

Oh wow! The Turkish coast in glorious HD!

Just waiting for live pics. Harmon and Maggie B ( a bonus) are on, so there should be a live feed amongst this lot. If not, now, soon.

Indeed. Loved the ISD attack from 40-ish km out which animated the race. Surprisingly bumpy that last part of the stage. Despite the "lack" of oppositin for Greipl I think that was a very good win - no cakewalk.

Chuckling to himself because he could never cope with the short sharp climbs or with the heat already in April?
Or maybe now he's with Fiorella, he could never really race at the "Turkish Beauties Sprint Prime"?
Or maybe he wouldn't like the landscape or Greipel isn't felt any opposition?
Pity if any were the case.

Why snigger at the man for winning. I don't get you people sometimes.

People fawned over EBH for wins in the equally insigificant Tour of Britain last year.

Mine was a reference to Cav's interview in the Guardian. Internet forum people taking the mick is one thing, but when your own team-mate refers to your victories as "sh*t small wins in sh*t small races"... well... what can you say?

Greipel is doing what he does well, but I don't think the Tour of Turkey would have been high on his list of priorities at the start of the season.

    A little tactical gem.
You would have thought Cofidis had it in the bag, since they knew they had to work over Visconti.
But the group chasing meant they had to keep driving.
    Excellent stage.
Turkey seems adept at producing spot on parcours, that can end up with any number of different finishes. :)

Very interesting. Montcoutie and Visconti in a group, 3 minutes behind the leaders.(2 ISD up there already).
Terribly tough stage. 32kph average means 95 kms still to go. An hour behind schedule.

I'm not at all impressed with Backstedt.
There is Moncoutie riding second wheel and they cannot say that the guy is blocking and what an excellent team job he is doing.
One ISD on the front and no one can get by the bloody frenchman. get it. ???

All the ISD boys on the front now, as Moncoutie takes a second wheel break and all the rest continue to suck.
The peloton looks "light". Paolo Borgini finally blows.........

In fact I would put this Turkey today on a par with GW.
Interesting even though the big names are missing and I do like a cycle race.

Visconti is a superb rider. Really annoyed they didn't get an invite especially with them having Rujano. I would have thought Cipo's connection would have helped their case.

They did FA with their Giro invite last year though.

    Yes, Haha!

It's become a hobby of mine. I started with the Eneco Tour last year and since then have also scored hits in the Dauphine Libere, Giro and last year's Tour of Turkey as well. I'll be targeting a dull, long, flat stage in this year's Tour de France and probably also the Vuelta. It's hard to get a mention in the 1 day races 'cos there's so much going on, so Paris Roubaix etc. are the big ones to go for!

Last night I also asked how they felt about Rasmussen's return and who they fancied in Castilla y Leon but they didn't answer those....
