Folks,
I am going to custom spec some wheels. My goal is to come under 1500g and keep the costs down as much as possible. Any recommendations for rim/hub combinations that can achieve this while keeping costs down ? Bike is a cyclocross bike with 6-bolt disc brakes that will be used 25% offroad, 75% onroad.
Thanks

I have hope pro II (6 bolt) built on mavic open pro rims with 32 spokes. Not sure of the weight but the hubs are silky smooth and so the wheels roll forever.

Hope on Open Pro won't come in at 1500g. More like 1700+.

Do you need 130mm or 135mm rear width?

DT240 disc hubs are fairly light, so you could build up some 28 holers on some Ambrosio Excellights which would be a good bet.

Excellight rims are pretty tough (I use them and I'm 88kg) and couple them with some Sapim laser spokes which weigh the same as CX ray, just not as aero.
As for hubs if you need 130mm width them they are a little thin on the ground.

Apart from DT or custom, 130mm OLN disc hubs are almost non-existent.
