Bar & Stem upgrade

Evening all,
I am wanting to upgrade my stem & bars from the GT standard ones. I will get a shorter stem and feel as though my bars should be a little bit wider than they are at the moment. My hands are right at the ends of the bar at the moment when in my relaxed riding position.
My question is, will it be too much of a change to upgrade them both at the same time? I.e will the hadling be too different? Should I upgrade one and then once I am comfy with it upgrade the other?
Stem is 90mm +6 degree, and bars are 660mm don't know the rise on them.
I'm lokking at a 60mm stem same rise & 760 bars (but probably cut these down abit).

The handling and weight position will change.
Good thing about wide bars is that you can always cut them down later on.
I'd do the bars first - this may cure everything. Shorter stems are not always good for everyone and 90mm is hardly a tiller.0 -
Agree with Sonic (for once ) get new bars first then new stem if you still need it.
One thing to bear in mind with stems (you had probably worked this out but just to make sure) althouhg they have the same rise in degrees, the 60mm will not have the same rise in height since it is shorter. So long as you have room to play with on your steerer tube taht should be fine.0 -
Thanks guys. Any reccomendations/suggestions? Ive been looking at the Nuke Proof Warhead 760mm riser:

I find my Pro Atherton 20mm rise bars really good. About the same price as the Nuke Proofs. The Nuke Proofs are good though and are a few mm's wider
