Squealing brakes

I just bought a Scott Scale 50 and have only done around 15miles on it so far. Today when I had to brake quite hard my disc brakes squealed like crazy. I did try bed the brakes in when I got the bike by doing some big stops from speed going downhill.
Apart from checking everything is tight is there anything else I can do to get rid of the squeal?
