Anyone on here going? Planning to get the train to Surbiton and meet there.

Only thing is I don't have a helmet...got tools, spare tubes, pump, etc.

Just wondering whether to go with shorts or tights!

I would have said tights. I did a 62km ride to, fro and around Richmond park in my tights, and I'm glad I did as there was some horrible headwinds going up towards Sawyers hill!

I'll be joining the Wheelers next week, as long as the weather is good!

How were they with you not having a helmet?

 The, aahh, clocks changed today apparently

Still, gives me a chance to get a lid ordered! Hopefully I'll see you next week!

What helmet are you going to get?

I need to ask - what do you guys wear?

I haven't worn one since I was a kid as I find them constrictive and a bit itchy when hot, but I know I should.

Will post up a new thread in the right section!

I wear a fox flux lid, I know it's a mtb helmet but it gives a bit more protection to the back of my head and I am not a weight weeney and I am not about to enter the tour de france so couldn't care less if I look odd on the commute.

I don't but if you do, try a few on and see which fits.

Specialized Echelon. A very comfortable helmet, and I forget I'm wearing it sometimes!

If you're not too fussed, E-bay have some second hand Giro Indicators going for about £12, although they do sell first hand for £24 delivered on there.

Kinda glad I'm not the only one - was wondering if I'd get reprimanded! :D
