The bearings in the non-drive side of my GXP are gone, can some body suggest some possible upgrade options that will work with my current chain set / axle. I know Hope do cups that work, but needs a conversion kit which i don't fancy..

I'm thinking of going to for the 2010 Chris King GXP.

I know you said you didn't want to mess around with adaptors in the Hope but its a simple case of just knocking them in and you are away

Here is a video how to do it:

Thanks, this Hope video clears up the reasons for there adapters.

Still leaning towards the Chris King cups, as they come with a 5-year warranty..

The Chris king BB cost about twice as much as the Hope though and new bearings for the Hope only costs 20 quid and the adaptor costs a tenner.

Up to you though but I would go for the hope

Well im still undecided on which to go for, but if i do go for Hope, i will opt for the Ceramic version which i have found for £83.40 including the GXP Converters.

The best price i have found for the Chris King cups is £86.99, but i have yet to track down the GXP compatible cups online in the UK, im still unsure if there available in the UK yet.

Replacement Ceramic bearings are around £27 for the Hope, so even if i only have to replace the bearings once, the Hope Cups will end up the more expensive option due to the 5 year warranty on the Chris King bearings .

I'm in a similar situation and saw these - am i right in thinking that for that price they're not the ceramic bearings that are normally talked about..? I'm guessing it's an error in the description...

I imagine they're the stainless bearings, not the ceramic ones.
I'd get the Superstar ones over those though, they looked better sealed than the Truvativs, and are a few quid cheaper.

The Ceramic version retails for a lot more, the best i have seen them for is £130.

Would the Gusset EXT24 bottom brackets work with a GXP crank? They do a ceramic version for a very reasonable £50..

Get the Hope. End of story.

Bomb proof, really well sealed, uses standard bearings you can get from any bearing supplier for next to nothing and the adapter is a 10 second job to fit.

Plus of course don't forget Hope kit is build for UK weather rather than Californian sunshine......
