That day in 1988, at the finish, Sean Kelly, twice a winner 1984 & 1986, said "anyone who wins Paris Roubaix is a great rider". Thomas Wegmueller was no slouch and Fignon in his prime- a double Milan San remo winner in those 12 months, couldn't get them back. I'd be in awe of any Paris Roubaix winner.0 -
