Fox 40 RC2s - Knocking Sound

I've got a pair of 2010 Fox 40 RC2s (with FIT cartridge) that are about 3 weeks old and they've developed a knocking sound (from the left leg) in the mid-stroke.

After a bit of googling and forum searching it appears it has something to do with the coating that fox put on the spring moving and causing the spring to knock against the inside of the stanchion under compression... Can anybody confirm this or suggest a way of fixing it? Would rather not have to wait for the spring to be replaced on warranty - I can only imagine this is a process that takes a ridiculous amount of time - putting me off (my only) bike for too long!

do you want to keep your warranty?

Call Mojo and ask them about it.

I probably should keep the warranty - I've heard they're not the most reliable fork... Phoning mojo/the bike shop was my plan for tomorrow morning.

The manual walks you through changing springs but I'm not sure if I change them myself whether it would void the warranty - phoning it is!
