Been wearing my shorts all winter albeit with kneewarmers. Forgot to put them on tonight but didn't miss them, Metcheck says I'll need them in the morning.
I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.

For FR i'll use knee/shins (and some DH). For XC/AM stuff I don't.

(I meant I don't wear them for warmth- but for protection)

It's your body, but AM riding in particular can be trecherous, as most of the riding is more technical, requires negotiation of many rocks and sharp objects.

I wear them all the time, even for XC.

True, i'll probs get some Kyle Straits in the summer, but for XC I like having my knee's free, and, again, IMO it's not needed. Each to their own :)

Winter - 3/4 length shorts, rest of the year - short shorts - both Endura Singletracks and both brilliant!

Indeed, but when you've been riding for 25 years like me, you learn, hopefully not the hardway!!!

I fucked my left knee up severly, cartiledge damage. Even after lots of physio, it still causes me problems, and hurts severly in the winter.

I use Predator shinpads when out on the sanction as well (as they have great built in ankle support - yet another injury) ;)

Hmm, maybe I'm giving myself 'fake' confidence as everytime I crash I just get up with no damage, I guess one day that won't be the case! :?

I shall be keeping my knees covered until the seriously warm weather arrives. I will be riding in short sleeves before shorts...

Chris wear t-shirts when it's snowing, so not surprised by shorts wearing.

Yep. Riding I've been in shorts all winter, with either knee warmers or leg warmers. Not been cold enough for tights.

I got some confused comments from people for wearing shorts today. I was glad I was though, otherwise my legs would have been sweating like nobody's business.

    Jeans suck.
