Hullo, I am after some cheap road tyres for my old MTB (26") as I cant afford a road bike and have an old set of rims I can use, that I found in my garage. Not much money to spend on a set, I will be using them mainly on tarmac and occasionally a dirt tow path. Any suggestions???
I just want to say good luck.... we are all counting on you.

Schwalbe Land Crusier MTB Tyre have very positive reviews - Seem ideal for tarmac/slight off road loose terrain on a MTB (Puncture Protected!) - unfortunately cheaper Wiggle are sold out but can get the 1.75" for £24 ^

Pick the cheap ones I have no experiance on mtb road tyres but alot of the tyres on that page have buyer reviews that may make your choice easier.Lapierre Spicy 516 XTR custom (2013) -http://www.bikeradar.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=129323320 -
All Terrain Cycles are pretty good for tyre prices. Yet to use them since discovering this, but they undercut CRC for the Land Cruisers... £11-94 for either 1.75" or 1.90"!

^ You can actually get a half decent semi slick folding tyre for £14. It's a 2.0 so it's comfortable but rolls brilliantly and gives enough grip on light off road and doesn't weigh a ton. I like 'em.0 -
