Hi,
Already got Hardrock as hardtail, but new c2w scheme is making me think about getting a FS for something a bit different. I am basically looking at the Boardman FS Comp. My question is has the Ario 2.1 got lockout. SRAM website says:
"Featuring a rock-solid lockout with remote option and a new damping system, the Ario offers a simple and light air spring design with the smoothness and efficiency to keep you turning the pedals all day long"
however no of the specs say it has got a lockout. Can anyone confirm this?
Also is lock essential for this shock, I have heard that it is pretty stiff and wonder how much energy will be lost while climbing.
I know the Boardan gets good reviews and Halfords doesn't, before this turns into one of those debates.
Your thoughts please.................

I don't think it does - just rebound adjustment.
The 2.2 does.0 -
I`ve had my Boardman fs comp for 6 mnth now, great bike - no regrets.
The Ario 2.1 dosen`t have lockout but i have mine with a bit more pressure in to keep it stiff anyway - still does a good job and climbs with the best of them.
Front shocks (Rockshox 335`s) have lockout to help with the really steep climbs, just remember to unlock on the way down - ive forgot a few times and suffered. You only get one shot .........so make it a double !

Find the extra and get the Team FS.Not much more on a C2W purchase and you get better forks, better shock, and better brakes,aswell.2006 Giant XTC
2010 Giant Defy Advanced
2016 Boardman Pro 29er
2016 Pinnacle Lithium 4
2017 Canondale Supersix Evo0 -
Thanks for that.
I know that I owuld be better stretching to the team, but don;t want to pay that much more. Yes it is a bit more but more than my budget.
Anymore thoughts.0 -
to be honest ive had a couple of bikes now with lockout and hardly ever used them, the boardman uses the specialized horst linkage which makes the bike climb very well with the shock active.if i was spending a grand on a full susser that is where my money would go.hope this helps0

Thank you. Sounds like the Comp it is. IIf lockout not really used and the Ario can be adjusted to be stiffer then, this is gonna be the kiddie.
Lets hope it meet my expectations.....................I want lots of ....... with a hint of
Now just gotta see what halfords will do to grasp me as a Boardman buyer............0
