Just though I'd share this in case anybody was considering going tubless. I run Stans Olympic rims with Stans milk had this set up for about 2yrs, was heading out on night ride last night just as I met my mate I could feel my rear wheel had probably lost a bit of air so thought I must have had a small puncture and need to inflate a bit. I stopped and looked at my tyre and seen this huge round headed tack/nail in the tyre! Didnt wanna pull it out for obvious reason so I inflated the tyre to see if it was hold in the air and sure enough it did so decided to ride with still in and wait till got home to remove. Everything was fine just had to stop once to reinflate. When I got home and removed the tack air and sealent just shot out like a fountain and tyre was flat like I'd removed the valve core I spun it round whilst it was deflating quickly but was sure my tyre was fucked anyway got the track pump out and gave it go and pumped up to see what the damage was unbelievably the hole had sealed and tyre inflated no problem!! I have had small punctures whilst tubless but nothing like this needless to say I'm hugely impressed.

This forum is great! I was just gonna post to ask about Stans rims and if people thought going tubless was worth while and you have answered both questions, I,m going with hope hoops and stans flow rims, what tyres would you recommend ?

Hi what tyres...? is probably the next hardest question to answer after how does quantam mechanics work, personally I use Conti speed king supersonic they are non UST a bit of pain in the arse to seal but defo do and you can run em all year weight only 400g.
