Rebuilding 2007 Ergolevers

I've lost the indexing on my 2007 Campagnolo Centaur Ergolevers. I still get a click when coming down the gears but upshifts have no indexing. I opened up the lever today and stripped as I was lead to believe new G springs usually cure the problem but apparently 2007 levers were made with crappy plastic internals and no G spring. Has anyone experienced similar? I have stripped and cleaned the internals but it has not helped. Can anyone point me in the direction of a 2007 Centaur Ergo internal diagram? All the ones I can find relate to pre or post 2007 and not the actual G Spring-less model.

I've seen that thanks Red Dragon, unfortunately the Record Ergolever had different internals to my 2007 Centaur. Oh well, new shifter time by the looks of things.
  • Sorry bout that I thought it was a bit of a long shot, best of luck. There is an exploded diagram of an ergolever in ZINN & the Art of ROAD BIKE maintenance, but that is only of any use if you have access to it. Best of luck.
  • I think you can get some exploded drawings on the Campag website somewhere. That should endable you to identify the exact part as (from memory) they have part numbers on the drawings. you should be able to order any campag component from an official dealer such as http://www.cyclesclements.co.uk/home/

On youtube i think there are explanations on how to strip down all sorts of campag shifters of various vintages....

  • if you have 2007 centaur (like i do on one bike) i thing you need to look at "escape" shifters

or maybe that just applies to the front mech shifter? worth a look anyway.

+1 for Mercian cycles in Derby.

Failing that, you could try the Campag Service centre, who service ergos amongst other parts.
