If you're on a budget then Michelin XC All Terrain for a tenner at on-one is a steal

i can spend 50 tops
looked at the kendas and there about 850g isnt that a little heavy for a tyre?0 -
you're looking at sub 650g ideally0

is this ok for both? says stick-e compound on sides and stiffer in the center? 630g whats better and 2.1 size... also wiggle so i can get £5 discount and money back...0

That'll be the UST ones? The folding DTC 2.1 is about 620g, the stick-e just a little heavier. Not light but pretty much average for a tough, knobbly tyre of this size.
(worth mentioning on sizes, that Kenda do come up to the sizes they say on the side usually, unlike some others- the 2.1 Highroller is tiny, the 2.35 Highroller is barely bigger than the 2.1 Nevegal, for instance)Uncompromising extremist0 -
i ment to link on my previous post... is this the onse - http://www.wiggle.co.uk/p/cycle/7/Kenda_Tomac_Nevegal_DTC_Mountain_Bike_Tyres/5360028563/
i can get 2, 2.1 for 39.10 with my discount so if they are correct then its a steal in my eyes.0 -
That's the one I'd recommend for the rear. For the front, the stick-e folding compound is, well, stick-e-er

Don't get me wrong, there are other great tyres, but these are my fit-and-forgets, done everything from mcmoab to fort william dh to easy "natural" XC rides to tarmac commuting on them. They're terrible for commuting but they did fine for everything elseUncompromising extremist0 -

a good range of kends, maxxis and conti tyres, free delivery and a discount if you get a pair,
just be careful if you opt for continental tyres as i have found out their sizing is all to cock0 -
Northwind

i can get them cheaper on wiggle because of a £5 discount...the pair will be like £37 ish but thank anyway0 -
Oh, the other thing... Check ebay, there's always loads of tyres because people get bikes and swap on their favourites, or they try 4 different brands to decide which one to use. I think I've only bought one new tyre since I started riding again, all the rest were very lightly used, but you get them for about half price.
Or maybe that's just me being a scaff.Uncompromising extremist0 -
for £40 for a pair, spesh eskar 2.3 upfront (55a/65a) with spesh captain rear 2.2 (70a/60a)0

It's not quite the same as pulling them out of a bin mind, I'm pulling them out of an e-bin.Uncompromising extremist0
