Chainset 9 spd - Derailleur 8 spd,any problem??
Hi
I purchased a new bike and I want to upgraded immediately.
But am a little confused with the order of the parts.
I have a new chainset but its 9 speed. Also I don t want to change the gear shifters where is 8 speed.
Its any problem if the cassette and the rear and front derailleur its for 8 speed and the
Chainset is compatible with 9 speed?
Thanks in advance
ps do you suggest me another economical solution?

just run it as is. one of my bikes has 9/10 hollowtech chainset and 8speed chain/block. the only difference is the chainrings are a little thinner. it wont alter anything in practice.0

+1
it will be fine
if you're concerned about ring rub then just fit a 9spd chainFacts are meaningless, you can use facts to prove anything that's remotely true! - Homer0 -
+2 no problems as the amount of shift is the same. The only thing you may need to change are the wheels if you have a 9 speed narrow chain.0
