Adjusting Avid Elixir 5

Just got myself a cracking new bike with Avid Elixir 5 brakes but am having difficulty in getting them adjusted.
I've read the manual and the only adjustment is the reach which I have maxed out but I am still able to pull the rear lever into the handle bar. The brakes came bled and were fitted by the shop.
Any ideas guys?

Pump the lever repeatedly - this should set the pistons.0

Having left the bike 24 hrs the brake lever was spongier than before but after a little pumping returned to as described above.
Does this just sound like they require bleeding?0 -
Similar thing happened to my Elixir RLC rear brake on Saturday.

my elixir 5s are fine. i think you do need bleeding and your just one of the unlucky ones0

These are new brakes - if they are not working correctly let the shop sort them out - don't fiddle with them yourself if you don't know what you're doing, let the shop and/or warrenty fix them. Just bad luck really, or just plain old bad setup from the SRAM factory - heard a few of these stories now.0
